AHA Juli- FREE AT LAST

Posted under by Jenn

Juli you better get yourself ready because Ryan Philippe is SINGLE again.  I thought of you while listening to my radio station this morning.  The hosts mentioned that the two have split/seperated and I instantly thought of you.

Happy Halloween to all my FRIENDS.

Freehand

Posted under by Jenn

I haven’t carved a pumpkin in at least 3 years.  I have missed the smell of cutting the top out, removing the lid, smelling the guts and the seeds.  Scraping the insides out, carving out the face.  This is the first year that I did it freehand and let’s just say that the outline would have been better :)   So, after carving my pumpkin, I traced the eyes in black to hide my mistakes, put a candle in it and my pumpkin is ready for tomorrow.  This is what my last three years have been missing.  I have been missing out on the Pre-halloween prep and I am not talking about decorating the porch or the house.  You really  know it’s Halloween when you have carved your pumpkin.  Then, you know when Halloween is over- the lingering smell of burning pumpkin wafts and fills the air for trick or treaters.  :)   AAAHHHHHH the memories.

Have you ever….

Watches so many movies with the same theme and you realized that you can’t get enough of it?  I have been watching endless scary movies and I am not sick of them.  The only one that 13 days of Halloween can do without is Hellraiser I & II.  Two very lame movies.  The rest is great.  I have been watching Amityville, The Omen, The Exorcist (Juli, Stephanie watch out), The House on Haunting Hill, When a Stranger Calls (the original and the remake), Vertigo, Rear Window (Great Classics), Jaws, Friday the 13th (the series), Halloween (the series).  Did you know that Halloween came out before Friday the 13th?  I thought it was the other way around.  Then, there’s Poltergeist, Nightmare on Elm Street, When Darkness Falls, Saw I and Saw II, Grudge, The Ring, The Ring II, Blair Witch Project and that is all I can remember for now.

So, in two nights ”13 Days of Halloween” will come to and end and I hope I had my fill of scary movies.

2nd b-day

Posted under by Jenn

I went to my God son’s 2nd birthday party yesterday- Justin.  We watched the dogs swim in the pool.  We watched 5 kids make a good effort of swimming in the cold ass swimming pool.  We ate Togo sandwhiches, salad and potato salad.  We watched Justin open his presents.  Ate cake and watched the kids play with Justin’s new toys.  One of the toys was by Little Tykes, and it was a 5 ball pop up/batting lessons with a soft bat and plastic balls.  We kept telling the kids that were surrounding the batter to stay back and those standing in front to stand back.  Jade, Justin’s sister stood really close in front of the batter (less than 5 feet) and we kept telling her to stand back and she wouldn’t listen until she got smacked in the chest with the plastic ball.  All us adults couldn’t help but laugh and her Grandpa (Poppy) told her she needed to watch out.  She meanly stated she was ok as she started to run and bawl as she entered the house.  Jade came back out within a couple of minutes and it looked like she collected herself before resuming to play.  Then, Justin was standing near me- only 2 now.  Tristan smacked the ball and it bounced off my brother in law Jeff’s leg and smacked Justin in the arm.  He didn’t cry but he looked alarmed and his arm was red.  Between the laughter, the crying, the eating, the opening of presents, the drinking, I had a good time.

demolition derby

After running errands with my friend Sheli today, I came home and realized that the master bathroom has become a construction zone.  I am not talking about juggling here either :) The vinyl floors were pulled up, the stand up storage behind the toilet was removed, the toilet was out and in the covered patio outside, the vanity mirror was gone, the medicine cabinet was gone.  All that was left the shower and the vanity.

Jason had fun with the bathroom.  Unfortunately he couldn’t use the sledge hammer because of all the plumbing but I can just imagine the work of pulling out the original bathroom that was built in 1962.  It was time for a change of scenery, appliances and fixtures.

We probably saved ourselves a good $3k for all the labor.

time for shots

Posted under by Jenn

Peanut is past due on her feline shots.  She was due in August and I have jeopardized her “going outside”, her “outside fun” because I have been too lazy to take her to the vet.  She will go this weekend so if she gets outside she doesn’t contract the disease that “Dini” has – Feline Aids.

the dilemna

There is always an out…..  My family is getting together to discuss things up in South Lake Tahoe this weekend.  I do have an opportunity to go.  I am not considering the thought because I have already planned out my weekend on Monday.  First thing tomorrow morning, take Peanut to get her shots.  Then go to a Mary Kay facial with my friend Sheli (for brunch)- get a makeover and possibly buy more MK product.  Then, go shopping at DD’s for an area rug.  Go out to lunch, come home, hang halloween decor.  Clean up around the house, tidy up.  Then, on Sunday go to my God-son’s 2nd b-day party.  The family thing snuck in earlier this week and I had made plans aorund it.  Then, I realized that I haven’t seen some of my cousins since July.  Then it dawned on me that I can’t attend everything that wafts my direction.  Plus, Thanksgiving is around the corner and I won’t be seeing any family members then because I am going to Vegas to see my folks with my husband.  Then I realized again that I can’t attend everything.  CONCLUSION:  THINK ABOUT MYSELF FOR A CHANGE- WHAT DOES JENN NEED?

Fall Back?

Posted under by Jenn

Don’t forget to set your clocks back on October 29th, 2006.  I am not worried about it.  As long as I am not working retail, on a weekend or going to Church.  I am in good hands.  I don’t apply to any of those situations but in the past they have been sticky.  Unfortunately, I am a CEO member of Church now until I find a Church that both Jason and I can attend together.  CEO- Christmas and Easter only. tee hee :)   A seasonal attendee!
