Yesterday, Jason and I hit the furniture store in Livermore and bought a chaise lounge couch in olive and a tan recliner. Both are made out of micro-fiber (suede). It is stain resistant, pet hair resistant. The pet hair can get vacuumed out, wiped away because the micro-fiber doesn’t allow pet hair to get tangled, it sits on the surface. Same with spills, or any fluids that douse the couch, a wet cloth with soap and water and it wipes away.
Good bye white couch, hello new furniture. The chaise couch is great, it has two cushions and then an ottoman piece that can be flopped on either end of the couch with the extra long cushion for lounging. It’s super comfy. Same with the recliner, it retracts back, and almosts lays flat- perfect for watching TV. We can’t wait until both pieces get delivered on Saturday. YIPPEE!

It was the Ridd’s get together on Saturday night. The Dallas Cowboys game started at 5 pm, the food was on at 4:30 pm. Jason and I brought our bacon wrapped artichoke hearts, balsalmic fig and cream cheese and beer. We drank, we watched the game, we saw the kids run around and play, we watched a guy get pulled over and get a DUI, we drank some more, we played poker until the wee hours of the morning. It was an eventful night.
There was shrimp cocktail, a cream cheese spread with balsalmic fig sauce, there was another cream cheese spread with this Tiger sauce, a fruit and cheese platter, bagel bites, spinach dip, honey BBQ wings, hot wings, nuts, chips, salsa and chips, cream cheese stuffed jalapenos, Albertson’s (yummy) cookies all the great finger foods that one desires. YUMMY. This is what the holidays are all about- pigging out on great snacks/food and gaining weight. NO, not completely, hanging out with good friends.

So, Jason and his friends go to Oakland Colesium on Friday night to see Guns and Roses. They get there around 8 pm and the opening bands are playing. Well, Jason calls me around 10 pm stating that the opening bands are taking their time and there is no sign of Axel Rose or his crew yet. Jason calls at 11:30 pm stating that there has been silence and fights for the past 45 mintues. Inebriated and upset, Jason and his friends climb back into bart and head home around 12:50 am. They don’t learn until the next morning that Guns and Roses started playing at 1 am. Now, when a shows starts at 8 pm and they are expected to start playing at 10 pm, wouldn’t you be really pissed off when you leave the show at 12:50 am and they haven’t showed up yet? At least they didn’t pay for the tickets, they were free. Such a loser, showing up at 1 am for not even a packed stadium.

Nothing like the smell of pine to really get someone in the mood to wrap presents and for the holidays. I haven’t felt like wrapping presents until we put the lights on the Christmas tree earlier today.

Everyone at our Holiday Party on Saturday night hoarded on the spread we laid out for everyone. It was massive! Chris you would have not only loved to hear about it but to also EAT IT!
I believe Juli, Jennifer, Gina, Bruce, Su, Kevin, Sheli and all the other 29 guests had their fill. If anyone is craving leftovers, then please come over. Bruce and Su even brought over two big pans of Pad Thai. (I told them not to bring food, but it was well appreciated during the party and as leftovers- thoroughly enjoyed by Jason and I.
APPETIZERS INCLUDED: Bacon wrapped artichoke hearts, Sausage, cream cheese and feta stuffed mushrooms, cheese fondue with multigrain bread, hot oil fondue with zuchini, cauliflower, shrimp and garlic. Also, included was BBQ meatballs, little smokies in hot zesty sauce, my hot chili dip with chips, my black bean and corn salsa dip with chips, a balsalmic fig reduction smothered over cream cheese with wheat thins, a cheese ball, deviled eggs, salsa & spicy chips, shrimp cocktail, sushi and another Thai plate (Chicken curry puffs). Quite the spread, huh?
Dessert included my chocolate fondue of course served with Marshmellos, dried apricots, pineapple and pound cake. Neighbors brought a flourless dense chocolate cake with these tiny candy cane sprinkles, another neighbor brought cookies. This helped out because I had forgotten to make the pies.
chips, nuts, white cheddar popcorn,
