I need a better camera phone!!!

I was at the grocery store last night around 6 pm and on my way home I noticed the amazing sky.  It was a soft powder blue with cloud striations.  It almost looked like long claws but not scary at all.  The clouds were a dark purple and the sky was light blue.  I almost called Jason Lehrbaum so he can take a picture of it.  So, I took a picture with my camera phone and of course the picture came out like crap.  Just all fuzzy :(  I can’t get a phone upgrade until November- can I cry now?

Riva at the River Party

March 26th, 2006 -- Posted in | 2 Comments »

Jared and his roommate Matt bought a condo in West Sac. They had a housewarming party on Saturday afternoon. It started at 12 noon. So, Jason, Juli and I arrived at 12:30 pm. No one was there yet. We snacked on chips and stuff, chatted with his Dad and Mom, had the grand tour of the condo which is very nice and just hung out. Then Joe showed up. These are old CSUS Ski club members. We were the elite of the group at it’s finest hour before the ski club group got so huge you didn’t know who was who. Juli and I had some good conversations and Jason got to catch up with Jared and Joe. Yes, it was all J’s at this point until Lee showed up. Then some of Jared’s parents friends showed up and all us kids (tee hee) moved into the garage to finish eating and get some poker started. For the first hour it was just playing and having fun. Well, of course I took almost everyone’s chips and then we decided to play for a $5 buy in. At this point, Juli left and I had a good buzz going on at this point. I started off with a Blue Moon Wheat beer, then had diet Mt. Dew and Skyy Vodka, then another Blue Moon Beer before having some champagne with the parents. Then another bottle of champagne was open and I had another glass but it was so dry that I had to put orange juice in it to make it taste better. It was such a bitter Mimosa. Yuck! But I sucked it up and drank it. There is so much more that happened after this that instead of writing about it, I will just list it.
Ron showed up
Jared’s girlfriend and her son showed up
Jared’s sister (Courtney) and boyfriend Kyle showed up. Kyle is really good at Halo 1 and 2.
Courtney ragged on Jared’s girlfriend and how much she is a slut and Jared doesn’t deserve her
Cassie (Jared’s girlfriend) paid $5 to play poker and she told others that she was really good, I took her money. tee hee!! I never admit it if I am good at something in front of others, I would end of jinxing myself.
Cassie started to get drunk and got mad at Jared for hanging out with the guys and she was upset that Jared wasn’t getting mad at all the times she threatened to hang out with her girlfriends at various clubs that evening. Jared kept saying just have fun. She would say she is leaving then would show up pissed off again within 5 minutes. She is very jealous and was saying hurtful things at Jared in front of us, she caused so much drama, I could write a book about her
My pile of chips started to dwindle then I started winning it back.
At this point, a lot of other guys joined the bunch and they kept wanting me to call my friend Juli back and tell her to bring some cute girls back. They kept asking how my friend Jennifer S, looks like and what she’s into. I kept saying that I wasn’t going to disclose anything until you meet her yourself. I wanted my friend Jennifer to come just to hang out but after they guys kept hounding me for more girls to show up, I didn’t want any of my friends to come back.
It was very frustrating at this point to play with drunk guys when you are sober playing poker. Drunk guys or anyone drunk loses track of time and the game takes forever to progress because everyone is drunk and slow.
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN AT A PARTY, DRANK A LOT, GOT A BUZZ, THEN YOU WERE SO BLOATED WITH INTERNAL GAS AND BUBBLES THAT YOU WERE SO UNCOMFORTABLE? Well, this was me. My stomach hurt so bad, I couldn’t burp or do other sounds to relieve the pressure. I took some Tums and the pain started to subside. Ah relief. I know this is TMI. :)
Relief until Cassie came in and was really drunk at this point and demanded that Jared take her home. He wasn’t about to leave his friends since he was the host or take his drunk obnoxious girlfriend home. So, this was about 11pm and 3 hours after I stopped drinking and I offered to take her home. It took 5 tries of going outside to my car and finally found her in the weeds crying that I said “that’s it, I am done trying for someone who doesn’t want to go home”. She kept trying to start shit with Jared. I don’t know why he puts up with that. He deserves someone so much better. Someone who respects him and his feelings. Well, it’s was 12:30 pm and the poker game was over. I walked inside to get some juice and Joe wanted to play Xbox so we played Halo for a little while. It was fun and I got motion sickness and had to stop. Joe, Ron, Lee, Jason and I had been there for over 12 hours and realized that we were very tired and started to split. Ron had to drive all the way back to Fresno which I guess was only 2.5 hours away. I had a splitting headache, very sober and tired and so Jason and I followed Lee and Joe out of the confusing maze of a new community.
Jason and I got home at 2:45 am. It was a very long drive home and I was very tired.

It was a very fun party at Riva at the River. Thanks Jared.

Every 18 minutes….

March 24th, 2006 -- Posted in | No Comments »

Did you know that every 18 minutes someone takes their life by suicide?  This statistic is really scary.  Didn’t know that, it is really tramatizing when you really think about it.  There is this website- www.overnight.org that helps people either dealing with suicide, thinking about suicide, helping those cope/grieve over losing someone who comitted suicide.  I was listening to 101.7 and it stated all this info this morning.  It saddened me but I am not thinking of committing suicide over it.

Comfort pants?

March 23rd, 2006 -- Posted in | No Comments »

These are the pants that let’s oneself relax, unwind, feel soft and comfortable, don’t restrict, bind or leave indentation marks. Yes, we are talking about sweatpants or pajama bottoms- cotton, silk, polyester, etc. Personally- elastic waist is the way to go AND no elastic restrictions at the bottom of the pant leg. Aahhh. After wearing work clothes, I look forward to my comfort pants.

What kind of comfort pants do you look forward to at the end of the day?

Discovery in the mirror

March 22nd, 2006 -- Posted in | No Comments »

I was resting on my bed last night and Peanut walked into the room.  She was looking for me and I didnt let her see me underneath all the blankets and pillows.  She noticed herself in the mirror and started to act funny.  Arching and raising her back as if the other cat in the mirror was her enemy.  tee hee :)  She charged the mirror and squished her nose.  I had see this before that is why I didn’t bust out laughing.  Then she started leaning on the window with her arms and paws raised and stretched to the ceiling and staring at herself.  She then walks along the side of the mirror, constantly looking with fierce eyes, scurrying away and immediately coming back with attitude and the arched back.  Finally, she meows at the mirror and I meow back, she looks disoriented.  Peanut then starts meowing mean to the mirror and I scream and jump up in the bed and Peanut literally jumps straight up in the air about 3 feet because I startled her, she was embarassed and ran out the room.  I just laughed.  Where is my video camera?

How many donuts in 1 day is considered too much?

March 21st, 2006 -- Posted in | No Comments »

I have a weakness for donuts.  Old Fashion, raised and glazed, bars, twists, bear claws, cheese danishes, donut holes, etc- all of them.  So, my co-worker brings in donuts yesterday and I have a raised and glazed chocolate- pure bliss devouring that donut :).  1 hour later- the maple bar was looking scrumptous- ate that too.  The afternoon rolled around and an old fashion sprinkles looked tasty- so I ate that too.  I was really craving sweets and I had my fix.  After dinner, I still had that yummy custard filled pastry from Sunday- Beth, Jennifer and Juli, you know which one I am talking about !!!??!!!  It was very good and I thought it would be too eggy but it was perfect.  YUM!!  So, even though this pastry wasn’t a donut, the count was 3 but turned to 4 by 10 pm.  Am I sick or just craving sweets?  Or is 4 pastries too much in one day?

Driving and multitasking…. not a pretty site!

March 20th, 2006 -- Posted in | No Comments »

Everything was fine while I was driving into work until the last mile stretch.  I was making a left handed turn onto the street I work on and this driver cuts the driver in front of me off before the last 20 feet to the crosswalk causing me to slam on my brakes!!!!!!  I proceed onto the street and this driver last secondly decides to get into the left lane to make a wide left turn causing me to merge to the left into the suicide lane.  YIKES.  I screamed, honked my horn and gave him the finger!!!  He was driving a manual transmission, smoking a cigarette, trying to drive and on his cell phone.  With my horn honking and my full blown middle finger out, I caused him to drop his cigarette (HA HA- hopefully in his crotch) and he dropped his cell phone out the window- BWHA HA HA HA!!!  I was laughing in hysterics.  I was really frustrated with his stupidity but my laughing cheered me up.

Irish car bombs or close to it…..

My friends Jennifer, Juli, & Beth came over yesterday afternoon. I had to take them immediately to my favorite store in Livermore, it’s called “Charlotte’s Web”- UNIQUE GIFTS AND SMOKING ACCESSORIES. Yes, they have such a store as this in Livermore- would you believe it? I bought a marcasite and silver ring with a purple crystal in the middle while Juli bought this ring that looked like a Tiger’s Eye and a Cherry bracelet. Around the corner from this store was a little Mexican store that sold pastries such as custard filled pastries, Churros, and other varietal ones. Beth bought a custard pastry and said it was super yummy. We then had to decide to eat because some of us were getting famished.
We went out to dinner at Gay Nineties pizza in Pleasanton. I had forgotten that Gay Nineties is by far the best pizza I have ever eaten. YUM!!
After dinner and the grocery store we realized that we only had enough Emmets for one shot each. So, our first half guiness was really good with the shot of Emmets and we had to be creative for the other one. I had this mix called Mocha Mudslide and mixed that with Kalua, well, IT JUST WASN’t the SAMe and it went down rough. Juli said that when you reach the bottom it is well worth it, AND IT WAS!! :) Jennifer, Beth and I had drank White Russians while Juli made a Vodka Cran. We played this trivia game called Sex and the City, it was so FUN. Jennifer, Juli & Beth also watched “RENT”. Musicals are not enjoyed by choice but every now and then I enjoy them, this was not the case with Rent. We got tipsy, drank, laughed, they ate butter cookies and then all of a sudden Beth gets really sad in this one segment of Rent. The moment of sadness ended ………. and then we picked up back with our game. Juli came back with a glass of Limoncello. I don’t think she realized the Limoncello is an additive like Grenadine or Rose’s Lime juice. It is used to compliment a drink. Limoncello is strong and is served best ice cold. I said to her “That is all Limoncello?” she said yes, I said “Limoncello is really strong all on it’s own, did you try it yet”. She said no, Jennifer took a very tiny sip and made this horrible face and we all laughed and then Juli took a swig and keeled over and moaned with a giggle attached. I took 3 swigs before pouring 7-up into it, to try to dilute it. After watching RENT we watch THE ISLAND or part of it before turning to bed at 2:30 am.
Sunday we went out to breakfast at IHOP and then headed over to DD’s discounts in Hayward to take them to by favorite discount clothings store. Better prices at Ross. Before heading home we stopped by the little Mexican store in Livermore for more of the tasty custard filled pastries. These pastries were only 50 cents each, it was a find. Good call Beth.
It was a very fun Saturday night and fun Sunday hanging out with my friends that are very dear to me.

Blue skies and pink clouds

March 19th, 2006 -- Posted in | No Comments »

Saturday when I woke up bright and early at 7:30 am. Yes, 7:30 am on a Saturday is EARLY for me, yawn!! I peeked through the miniblinds and shrubbery to discover that the meteorologists were right and no rain was in sight, for Saturday at least! :) To my discovery was the glimpse of blue skies with pink clouds. It was a beautiful sight, such chosen colors for a welcoming sunny day. I can appreciate VERY MUCH a weekend without rain, gloom, dark clouds, ya know… the typical weekend for the past 3 weeks.
