So much requesting and paperwork

July 31st, 2006 -- Posted in | 1 Comment »

I didn’t realize that there was so much paperwork involved in getting a promotion and so many requests for changes. Requesting more business cards with my new job title, changing my email signature, getting all the paths changed for emails, getting more admin rights to certain work applications. I have all this paperwork to fill out for obtaining a company car. 9 pages to fill out and 35 pages to read. YIKES! So, I have to make sure all this paperwork makes sense before I fax it in (REALLY). Reading about the new incentive plan is exciting but so much to try to understand. UGH!! *SIGH*

recent surgery…..

July 30th, 2006 -- Posted in | 3 Comments »

So far, my Mom’s surgery has gone really well. Last Wednesday the 26th she underwent Cataract eye surgery. The surgeons removed her “cloudy” lens in each eye and replaced it with a prosthetic NEW lens called “RESTORE”. So, she is still in the recovery stages.. she is unable to drive (go figure), go swimming and she has to wear these eye goggles so that she doesn’t rub her eyes in her sleep. While talking on the phone with my Mom today, I realized just how brave she was. I don’t know where she received the “local anestetic” and I don’t want to know *SIGH*. But the fact that she received a local injection somewhere, had her eyes dilated not once but twice is really brave. The only part of the body that makes me “squemish” is the eye. It’s one of the valuable parts of my body and sticking anything in, removing, slicing, you name it and I will melt on the floor. This squemish feeling happened before & during while I watched the surgical procedure for corrective eye surgery. They simply slice and peel away a portion of an eye, use a laser and they do something at the end. I never made the ending of that episode of “Life in the ER” a documentary on TV. So, my Mom’s eyes are not swollen, not red, not sore anymore and today was the first day that she felt “well”. I hope that she will be what her opthomalogist referred to as “most patients”. To where she will eliminate glasses and her vision will be 20/20! I will say my prayers.

I had my fix…..

“Tide Stick” to go….

July 28th, 2006 -- Posted in | 2 Comments »

This is a great idea but I feel it truely works best on clothes that are off white or white.  I could be using it wrong but I doubt it!  Directions state “for fresh foods and drink stains”.  Just like that stupid commercial where Kelly Ripa (emaciated and pekish as she looks- *NASTY*!!!!!) annoyingly sings really bad to her annoyed husband while at a restaurant.  And poof- the stain should be gone even though they dont’ show the “after” pictures.  Well, I had bought a comfy cotton v-neck shirt and I dribbled (not intentionally of course) a few drops of red wine.  Well, I grabbed the “tide stick” and start doing the work of trying to get the stain out.  I went home threw the shirt in the laundry and out of the dryer comes this shirt with three white marks almost BLEACH marks.  I was/am really upset.  So, was it false advertisement that it works on color too or am I missing something?  The stick even mentions that it’s an “instant stain remover”.  Well, tihis is true because while my friend Chris was eating dinner at Tower with me a few Damentos a couple of weeks back, he spilled park of his dinner on his off-white shirt.  On this occasion, the “Tide Stick” was an instant stain remover because his shirt was just damp but within minutes the stain was gone.  So, all I have left to ask Chris is…. Did it discolor your shirt?  Please let me know.

Being wishy washy & facing my fears

July 27th, 2006 -- Posted in | No Comments »

I know in the past I kept saying that I wanted to stay in my old offce and look outside at the lush grenery, the cats, the birds, etc.  Well, it comes down to one thing now- needing more space.  With my previous position, I was running out of room who know’s how much additional space I will need.  I kept bumping into things last week which is a clear indication that I need more room. So, I made the decision yesterday and moved offices.  My new office is approx a 12′x13′, it’s huge and I have more room to put 2 more pieces of furniture but I won’t.  :)  I already have wall to wall furnishings at my house.

So, I am facing my fears which is a good thing……

1.  I have to control my tone so it doesn’t venture down the hallway.  I have been told that I have a strong loud voice & for everyone’s best interest, I need to control my tone. No one else needs to hear me hang up abruptly on a customer and say “Idiot” out loud or anything else that is considering “inappropriate”.

2.  Before I had mentioned that there was bad Karma in the room.  Well, I cleansed this room in more ways than one (Religiously and mentally).  Plus- aesthetically the ceiling tiles have been replaced and new A/C filters have been installed to get rid of th musty damp smell. :)

3.  Moving up in a lead professional position means moving up “all together”.  Leave the smaller office for the new inside sales person to occupy, move into the larger office and take all aspects of this new role into consideration.  DID YOU KNOW….?  I AM PICKING UP MY COMPANY CAR NEXT WEEK!!!! I am giddy and anxious.  tee hee :)

Some of these reasons may seem silly to you but these are my feelings.  :)  Also, I didn’t want this room because I thought the thermostat was in the locked box when in fact I can increase or decrease temp on another thermostat.  I found this out yesterday.  So, another reason  why I moved into this office.

Just like the Dodge Ram commercial states “Take Life by the Horns”.  Not just life but everything in one’s life- work, leisure, etc….

watch out for the hose….

July 25th, 2006 -- Posted in | No Comments »

I drive home yesterday evening and I notice a lot of people waving hoses around.  At first, I thought “watering the plants/lawn” or “just trying to stay cool”.  In fact, it was all about cooling off the dog.  Several different neighbors are spraying water into their dogs mouths and it looks like the dogs are “eating the water”.  It’s quite funny!  Then, I thought maybe Dusty would like that.

I tried for several minutes in the humid sticky air around 9 pm to persuade her to come to the hose for some “cooling off”.  She was afraid of the hose without me even picking it up.  Unless it’s bath time or if I want to pick her up and bring her to the hose, she ain’t budging!!  “Stupid dog” is what I thought.  Then, I remember Jason saying that the Tri-valley SPCA mentioned that she was an abused dog the first 7 months of her life.  No, I am not trying to torment the dog but simply trying to eleviate heat that is trapped in her fur causing her to pant profusely!!

This sure beats the heat……

In Truckee, the weather is a pleasant mid 80’s.  Back at home our city is in the high 90’s about now or that is what Yahoo weather stated.  Since getting my promotion and returning from a business trip, I am swamped and I have so much work to do.  So, I am doing work on a dail up.  Yes, a dial up.  You know what is sad?  This dial up works faster than my server connection at work.  We are supposed to be on a faster connection but I don’t see the difference from this 28K dial up.  :(

Tonight is the concert on the greens.  Sitting back, listening to music, sipping on wine, eating cheese and crackers with some fried chicken and potato salad.  It will be relaxing but that is what vacation is all about even if your vacation spot is a mere 3 hours away from home.

Juli…. when I passed Antelope, I waved and said hi!

off to Truckee…..

July 21st, 2006 -- Posted in | No Comments »

Off to Truckee for the weekend.  Getting away from the hot sticky weather.  Poor Peanut will be all by herself.  :(

Off to enjoy the sunshine, catch up on work, be lazy, and go to a concert at the Tahoe Donner Golf Course “Concert on the Greens”.  I don’t know who is playing but I was told it’s relaxing and that’s what it’s all about. :)

I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!

July 20th, 2006 -- Posted in | No Comments »

My title officially starts on August 1st. I can tell you all about it later. I am amped but jet lagged and I need to eat something. I wasn’t able to sleep last night nor was I able to feel the need to eat. Could just be butterflies in my stomach? I am prepping my mind for the work ahead and I am anxious, timid, already feeling overwhelmed but I will over come all those within time (I hope). Or do I ever want to stop feeling that way? Time will tell.

Ontario, CA have you ever been….?

July 19th, 2006 -- Posted in | No Comments »

It’s the first for me but I like “first timers”. I am off to Ontario, CA for a business trip. There are lots of things in store for me today and tomorrow.
1. I get to meet my other Regional team members-
2. To train on a new process
3. To find out if I got the job promotion
4. To learn more about my Mgr.

Ugh, I hate traveling for work because they cram it all in one day and it’s very draining.
