It was “bathe your cat day”.
Yep, today is my Saturday. I have a vacation day today and tomorrow to get started on the final stages of my parent’s big hooray this weekend.
Peanut is not a dirty cat but I like the feel of her soft coat after I give her a bath. So, I trimmed her claws, got her mentally prepared and took her into the shower with me. Neighbors must think I am torturing my poor cat because she cries like there is no tomorrow.
Plus, today was exceptionally hot outside so when she finally was damp and the A/C blew on her, I am sure she was a thankful kitty

I uploaded 70 pictures online for Costco to print out for me. This is a great service. It’s fast, easy, and all I do is pick up the pictures and pay. I still have a lot of pictures to upload but part of it is done.Â
Tonight Jason and I are having dinner at his folks house in San Ramon. They are in Truckee most of the time but are down this week. I crave pie, maybe I will stop by Marie Calendar’s for their pie sale or pick up brownie bites at Albertson’s. They both sound yummy.
What would we do without computers…….. and pie?

I have been inside most of the morning, cleaning house and getting the house ready for the big party next Saturday the 2nd of September for my parents 40th wedding anniversary. It will be a BIG HOO HAH!! There will be approx 35 attendees, appetizers, cocktails and dancing. I will have to show pictures of Jason’s hard work and my display of food and decor.Â
Finally I made it outside to go to Costco with Sheli (my neighbor). She helped me last night replan out my menu with the help of a glass of Wente Red Zinfandel. I went to Costco to get the non-perishables, order my cake, and order my platters. I have to say that I came out spending less than $100.00. That’s amazing! Costco has always been $100 minimum purchase place.
Went to Walmart afterwards to pick up more table linens (diff color). Then picked up a plastic cover for the tables so I can lay all these pictures that I scanned underneath the plastic cover but on top of the linens. It will be conversational pieces for the 5 tables underneath the strands of light that Jason hung up yesterday afternoon.
His rewards for all his hard work is a day at the delta wakeboarding with his brothers. :) Jason is always such a tremendous help and my folks adore him :)Â

The mornings start off grey but then the sun shines to bring in the afternoon. Mornings that are gray & dismal really make it difficult to get motivated. Once the sun is out and the sun hits the skin, it’s really hard to focus and try to stay indoors at work. But I am forced to…! Ho hum! It’s almost September and it stays darker in the morning and get’s dark earlier at night. Luckily we have almost a month left of summer

Let me wipe the sweat off my forehead and take in a huge breath and breathe out a sigh of relief! It’s Friday! I have completed 2 large change orders for customers and I am pleased that I am facing the weekend. Yippee! I will do my happy dance in my chair now

The stupid football commercial and the stupid music. I guess you can say that I dislike football. The only thing I enjoy are the social gatherings :)Â
“This Monday is one day closer to Monday night football”- this commercial is agonizing. Someone throw me a bone

I have been a pie fiend this past 3 weeks. Each week, I have one small lunch at Marie Calendar’s and indulge in their decadent lemon cream pie. It has a really good graham cracker crust (which I normally hate) then it has this creamy sour cream and cream cheese light and fluffy mixture with lemon essence topped with lemon curd and a small dollop of whip cream. It’s sinful if you love lemon flavoring. I love lemon, my Mom likes lemon, Juli loves Lemon. It’s the way to go.Â
I went to lunch today with my friend Amy and we each had pie for dessert. She had the strawberry shortstack which had a fluffy pastry crust, then a custard strawberry filling with a layer of boston cream pie “cake” then fresh strawberries with glaze and topped with whip cream. Amy’s looked sweet but really fresh and delicious. She treated me to lunch to bring on my promotion.
So, pie is always a good way to end the meal

This is the first time in a long time that I am happy it’s Friday. The Fair is tomorrow and there are so many things that I look forward to at the fair.
1. Spending time with my friends
2. Spending money on neat stuff at the convention areas
3. Trying new things- food, rides, art
4. Controlling my gag reflex while in the farm pavillion
Yes, I gag!
5. I like seeing all my work “products” scattered around the Fair.
6. Dipping Dots- gosh, I can’t remember the last time I had dippin dots- probably a year
7. The sun, I don’t like sun on my face but I like the sun glistened glow I get after being in the sun all day.
8. Music debuts throughout the day
9. Options to win cruises or cars
10. Terry Stokes the hypnotist
11. Watching Lehrbaum thoroughly enjoy his cotton candy
12. Screaming on rides and almost losing my voice
13. When the sun goes down, riding the monorail and feeling what little breeze there is on my face.
Yes, I will look forward to these things tomorrow & MORE
