So, tonight we had approx 15 people over to celebrate Jason’s 30th birthday party and to host a poker tournament. The crowd was fun- John, Jeff, Sydney, Kevin R, Kevin M, Bryan, Perry, U. George, Jason L, Mom (D), Dad (D), myself and the b-day boy were playing poker. Leah- Bryan’s daughter played some PlayStation II. We had munchies, the shot dispenser was set up and good drinks flowing. Wine was poured, outdoor seating for the cigar and cigarette smokers (none- hahaha). The party started at 7 pm and it’s still going strong. I just wanted to take a break and post something quickly. So, far after 2 hours my mother in law beat one table of 4 guys and took their money (not all) and walked away including her $20 buy in with $71 dollars. A Clean sweep. Funny thing, she didn’t know how to play poker until she read up on Poker in the Library the previous weekend. What’s even funnier, she had a cheat sheet- what beats what- Hilarious! Then, I was at another table with 3 other guys including my father in law and I had taken $20 of their dollars and my chip stack was increasing in height. Poker isn’t just for men, women win too

The week has been off. Jason and I have been getting to bed late and getting up early. The end result- being really tired and drinking lots of coffee to stay awake and alert at work. So, drinking lots of coffee takes the place of water for me sometimes and not enough sleep can cause a bad reaction to the way your body reacts to the difference. I definitely felt the change after 3 days of doing the same stuff as above.Â
So, tonight, I get home from work, I change into my gym clothes. I wanted to have artichokes ready for dinner when I returned from the gym. I put a big pot of water on the stove, put the artichokes in the water. I croutched down in a low position and dug my head under the stove to find the lid to the pot. I was digging around for at least 30 seconds before I found it. I stood up and put it on the pot and instantly felt really dizzy (worse than previous times), I shut my eyes and I felt like I was swaying. I opened my eyes and Jason is looking at me more peculiar than any other times in the past. He stated that my color turned to a white pasty color. I said that I felt like I was going to pass out in a sickly kind of way. I felt all the energy drain out of my body as I attempted to walk fast towards the bed. I collapsed onto the bed, half way face down. I felt my heart racing, beating hard, fast, almost as if my chest and neck were to explode from the massive beating. I rolled over onto my back and told Jason to feel my pulse- he stated “I CAN SEE IT ON YOUR NECK”, I still wanted him to feel my pulse (for satisfaction). I told him to call the doctor or anyone to see what could have caused this. I reached for my laptop and my head started to ache like the start of a really bad migraine. I put the laptop on my lap and tried to type www.webmd.com (I go there for medical questions/research/concerns). Normally, I type around 70 WPM but I swear, I must have been typing 10 wpm. My fingers were going numb, my throat started to close as if someone was choking me and I started to gag/cough. Then, I started to get a pain in my left upper arm. At first, I thought, I am having a panic attack when my heart was racing- so I checked up on panic attack online. I had so many thoughts racing through my mind that I couldn’ty type, I couldn’t read what was on my computer screen and my eyes kept wanting to close. I had to stay awake, I didn’t know what to expect and there was so much discomfort and pain. My shoulders were tightening and my stomach was rolling, twisting, turning, it felt like my whole body was going into shock. I tried to count my heart beats but it exceeded over 150 in a minute that I lost count. After Jason made calls, and my symptoms were getting a lot worse, I put my shoes on as best as I could and we headed for the door to go to the ER.Â
To make a long story short, I had “SVT”, Supraventricular Tachycardia. Dysrrytmia- a very fast, regular heart beat. My heart beat was calculated as soon as the EKG tabs went onto my chest, as soon as the heart beat monitor went on my finger and soon as my blood pressure was taken. My heart rate was a shocking 246. That is 3 times the normal heart rate. I was given oxygen, blood was drawn (the vein was missed twice- ouch) and the doctor was explaining why my body was doing what it was doing. A drug was injected into my blood stream, I had to try my hardest to SLOW DOWN my breathing as much as possible. This drug, whatever it was called, made me feel like the life was being drained out of my body and that my life was slipping away. It was a very scary, very emotional time for me. Lots of questions were asked, the blood draw showed no symptoms of drugs- which I told them I am not a drinker or a drug user but people lie and I understand that. Doctors were taking precaution to not give me a drug if I had taken other drugs or drank a lot. I appreciate them for that. I also appreciate Emergency rooms- to take heart conditions patients faster than someone who has a bloody face from a baseball breaking their cheek bone and puncturing their eye socket causing it to be a bloody mess :) I can appreciate, blood and gore. So, after I was stabilized for nearly an hour, the EKG showed nothing else but a regular normal person, my blood pressure was back to normal. I was discharge. So, my doctor stated that I had to eliminate caffeine (soda, chocolate, coffee and tea) out of my diet. 2 components- Caffeine and Chocolate- holy crap. I confirmed and walked sadly out of the hospital.Â

I attended two grad parties in one weekend. I haven’t seen my family so much in a long time. It has been grand.Â
First it was Mother’s Day, then Father’s Day, then one grad party yesterday and another today. I must say, I have eaten well both yesterday and today.
 Eat on!

It’s was my Mom’s b-day yesterday. I forgot to call her and wish her a happy b-day. At least, I gave my Mom her b-day present last weekend at Father’s Day. She got a brand new pair of sneakers by sketchers, ya know, the slip on kind where the tongue doesn’t move and they are slip ons. I have a white shoe with pink highlights and they are super comfortable. She got a white pair with red glittery highlights. She asked for them and she got them :) woo hoo

Yep it’s time for another party. It’s my second cousins High School Graduation Party. He will be living in the dorm this coming August at San Jose State. Gosh, I remember my graduation party from High school, I raked in some big cash. My cousin Ryan had a good turn out, I wonder how much cash he rolled in.

I missed a day yesterday. I almost had a perfect month of posting every day. I guess it’s time to slack. Work is busy trying to meet months end quotas. I will slack until later.

It was great to celebrate Father’s Day with my Dad, Mom, brother and family. Today was so hot, the food was great, the company was great. My get together had over 52 people. I haven’t had a family get together that large since my parents 40th anniversary party at my house last September. There were 68 people. A mad house. Just my Dad being there, looking stronger every day was well worth it.

Did you know that you can buy a half of sheet of cake from Costco for only $15.99. You don’t even have to order it if you are willing to buy an “as is” b-day cake without being personalized. It’s awesome. You just add the candles and if there is room, the bakery will add a name.I have to admit, their cakes are good but Albertson’s makes a better cake. My wedding cake was from Albertson’s and I am not afraid to admit that. $313.00 for a cake that fed 100 people.Â
