So, today is the last day of the week before the start of a 3 day weekend. Following up on calls and everyone is gone for the weekend already. A bunch of people must have started their 3 day weekend early. It’s been tough trying to eat and being sensitive to both hot and cold, warm and chilly in between. My diet has consisted of tap water (semi cold), yogurt (room temperature), a chewy granola bar (chewed on the opposite side), not a whole lot. So, I have been starving these past 2 days and I need to do something. I hate asking for time off early but I need to take care of my mouth. This is the perfect opportunity especially if I can get cleared from work the rest of the day, then I can see a new dentist- plus he has room this afternoon to squeeze me in.Â
I just need to take the plunge…. pick up the phone and have the call with my boss to see if I can get out of work early to fix my tooth or find out the root cause.

Taffy is so good, especially vanilla or chocolate. Well, my friend Gina owed me $50 so I asked her to go to Old Sac, go to the Taffy Store and buy me $30 worth of Taffy (the vanilla one, my favorite).  I went by her house the day of the State Fair (8/18/07) and she presented me this huge bag of yummy taffy which I kept cold in a cooler. Well, I have been having a piece here and there since then. So divine, not sweet like the cheap taffy you find in a regular old store. So, normally I put the taffy in my mouth and the heat from my mouth melts it down so it can be chewed and gobbled up. Well, the phone rang last night and I had just put one in my mouth. I chewed it fast and hard before it could melt and swallowed it. My reason for this…… have you ever been leaning over trying to write something down on paper while talking on the phone and you have a piece a candy in your mouth? You know what happens, right? You drool and the person on the other end knows you have something in your mouth causing you to drool but they dont’ say anything because you know that it’s gross and rude. Well, I didn’t want to have to deal with that, so I chewed it up fast and swallowed it. So, to my dismay after I hung up the phone. I was thirsty and I wanted some water, I poured the chilly water from my Brita pitcher and drank the cold water. INSTANT OWIE PAIN!. It’s like I haven’t flossed in over a month.. It felt like a pain that went up into my skull and lingered for about 15-20 seconds. It’s worse that a painful brain freeze! So, I drank another sip wondering WTF is going on. Same pain. I was thinking what caused it…… too cold of water, so I tried tap- same pain! Damn it, I was starting to get pissed off. Then, I remembered the taffy- Ah Ha, I thought. Doh!

I called in sick today because I am really sick! It has been a tough week trying to muster and battle off this cold. At least my hunger has remained and my ability to keep food down is always a plus.Â
I went to my cardiologist and neurologist and to make a long story short. I AM FINE- woo hoo, time to party. That incident back on 6/28/07 was a one time thing. I can bring caffeine and chocolate back into my diet. I will see how fast that happens. I actually have been eating chocolate even though the doctor has said to omit it. Truth is, I have been eating chocolate that does not have any cocoa in it, so technically I have not been eating any hidden caffeine. So, I was still doing good.

That is the theme of this past weekend as I write this while lying in bed. I thought of so many things that I shouldah, couldah done.Â
I should have helped Jason more around the house, prepping for the kitchen demo. But grocery shopping sounded more appealing.
I couldah boxed up some kitchen stuff but watching TV was a past time instead.
I wouldah done my regular chores around the house like dust, vacuum, laundry, clean the cat box but doing other things seemed to hose up more of my time better.Â
Sometimes I think I am lacking on being a house wife and that it’s not fair that I put little effort into maintaining the house while Jason does so much to it. Then, I realize that I do things here and there that make up for it. It’s about compromise and even though it’s not the same level of help, it’s the thought the count and that I am aware I am doing it (admitting my faults). No body is perfect.

fever, chills, aches, night sweats, a minute cough, uncontrollable sneezing, running nose, dry nose, a low body temp (below 98.6), a sore throat.
WTF? I really don’t need this right now.
I felt like calling in sick today but I have so much work to do. I will see how far I can last this week.

So, I went to bed at 2 am and I got up at 6 am. The EEG test requirements are to not have any caffeine after midnight or 10 hours before exam. Must not put conditioner in and must not have more than 4 hours of sleep. I guess a lot of people that get EEG tests are retired. How are you suppose to function on 4 hours of sleep and then work an 8 hour day? It’s insane. I was so tired today. It sucked. No sugar could bring me out of my dead tiredness. Well, you know that I couldn’t have caffeine so I did the best I could. This is not helping my cold at all. This sucks! I will go to bed early.Â

Is it a myth or a fact, I am not a parent (yet) therefore I don’t know the true truth? Do kids really bring home a lot of germs? I can totally understand that and that is the truth.Â
Do people catch colds fast from kids that bring home germs? Or do the people that catch the cold, are their immune systems down and that is what brings on the cold?
After visiting my cousin, I started getting the chills at work the very next day. I started drinking the Echinacea tea, drinking lots of water and trying to get a full nights rest and keep my daily meals at a routine (same time everyday). Was my immune system down or kids colds or germs from schools are a lot stronger than than the everyday cold?
Am I thinking too much into this? I notice that I get colds more when I hang out with kids that go to school. Prime example, I went camping with my neice and nephew and a friends 3 kids. I came back home with a new cold.Â
I hung out with my brother’s kid quite a bit before he went to pre-school and now that he’s in pre-school, he came by my house earlier this year with a cold and I got a cold the following day. It’s weird, I know. It’s a topic that gets scuffed under the rug.

I visited my cousin Stephanie on Monday 8/20/07. I have been long over due to see her. Well, not too long. A little less than 3 months prior- end of May.Â
She opened her B-day present, I got to hang out with her husband and her 3 kids. Chatting was good, she is super busy, her kids are growing so fast. Time flies when you live 40-50 minutes apart Â

While leaving my Doctor’s appointment, I walked through ground cover area. I did not know that the ground cover was watered recently. I did not know that the ground cover was heavily saturated. I did not know that the ground cover was a mud bog underneath. You know how the rest goes?
I stepped on the ground cover, I started to slide downhill on one foot, I started to fall and head for the ground, I put my hand down to catch my fall and dug my only planted foot into the ground to stabilize myself. In the end, I didn’t eat shit in the mud, my feet are muddy, my hand is muddy and I think I hurt something in my hamstring or groin area.  From afar, I am sure it looked like I was trying to do the splits while keeping one arm extended behind me and planted on the ground. Owie :(Â

my voice that is. I suck at singing but everyone believes that they sound good while singing in the shower or the car (when the music is up really loud).
Well, every year my cousin Stephanie, my Mom and I call each other on each other’s b-day and we sing the Happy B-day tune to each other. Well, I called this year again and as each year goes by, I sound a little bit better. Not in a great sounding way but a little better than the previous year.
